Still performing what I see as pre performance anything to a hotair T-type with unknown history (obviously someone has done stuff to it). Motor seems sound..........has dual flowbaster exhaust, just upgraded fuel system (walbro 340, hotwire, filter, acufab), new MSD wires and plugs(changing the plaitnums.......who knew). Waiting on a new 2.5 atr uppipe due to mine is shot....... has adjustable wastegate pulloff.......will install boost gauge I have before I do anything. With my limited knowledge of these cars I am planning to replace the timing chain with an edelbrock double roller and, granted the front cover is is good enough shape, install a high volume/pressure oil pump kit as my next step. Am I going in the right direction? Any advice or reason this may not be the way to go? Thanks for any input, Kevin

I went with the HV oil pump/timing cover the same time I changed to a double roller. remember to put gask-a-sinch on the oil pump gasket, i made the mistake of not puting any and it leaked and leaked and leaked. change them flowbasters for turbo style ones. summit racing has some cheap ones. i'll take it for granted that their brand works as good as they say they do. I remember reading a hot-air recipe on gnttype.org that flowmasters (chambered) actually hurt your performance. funny thing, I have aero chambers on my car and they seem to work way better vs an open exhaust  Give John Pearcy a buzz at www.johnsperformance.com.. ask him what he has available for hot-airs and John will surely answer you in no time. I buy most of my items from him. Oh and jump on Keith Meases new Downpipes for hot-airs :D

oh....yes...you're on the right track :D getting sidetrack to get a go fast goody before any manditory maintenance is acceptable. :p

thats great...i got flowmasters on my car(came with it) and my dad, against my advice, just bought some autolite platinum plugs when i told him no just get ac delco.....looks like ill be takin the plugs back and fishin for some new mufflers....

I liked the regular autolites in mine the 24 for plugs (in orange box) these actually seemed to work better in the hot air. (then the delcos, delcos are good too, don't get me wrong) As far as the flow basters. (LOL too funny) When we took them off the 87 we gained 3 tenths. A little too restrictive...I really like by ATR exhaust. Just my two cents.... Have a good one...
