ive done searches and read a ton of threads and everything is so choppy i decided to start my own thread... i bought a 85 t-type from my friends dad for 1500(good deal huh? =P all power, climate control, the worx... 97,000 miles stock too) ive been doing the reg routine maint and i changed the belts today.. what a pita... was wondering what needs to be done and what a ballpark cost would be to do everything.

the serpentine accessories would go on... but then, why not spend naother $500 and get the intake, stock passenger header, downpipe, and intercooler, and maybe $150 for a stock turbo if you dont want to clock your hotair turbo ;p

all you need to do is get the accessory brackets, a/c compressor, alternator, p/s pump, p/s reservior, crank pulley..

im not sure about the water pump, it may just need new pulley, and you might need a different pump altogether.

you also need the belt tensioner.

as far as going for the gold and intercooling it, you need:

'87 intake - $150-200
'87 Turbo -$150-200
'87 intercooler -$100-150ish
Caspers Mat Sensor harness - $50 or so
'87 ECM $100ish
you CAN use a stock maf..hell you can use the stock ecm but it could have trouble accounting for the denser/cooler air charge.
intercooler brackets, and piping $100-150
passenger side header $75-100
stock down pipe $100ish
intake and valley pan kit $20
copper triangle gasket $3

;p

well in that case i guess ill just go with the gold package. dont need to do anything at the moment. making it last for now... (oil cooler trans cooler, pre luber maybe.. the lil stuff that makes a diff in a way besides speed..) so roughly a cool grand for the conversion eh... are their any good threads that are all about that. im about to do a search...
thanks

you should definitely search, ask int he intercooled forumtoo, theres are misc parts i probably havent thought of, ...but as far as little things go.. my car detonated severely until i changed my radiator/fan.. but that wasnt enough so i installed a oil cooler adapter, WHAT A DIFFERENCE.. it used to knock badly at 2 psi, audible.. the rad kept it at bay ..but it still did it now and then.. i cant beleive so many hot airs are alive with them stock rad/fans and no oil coolers..

haha spun a bearing today... blah what crap... o well gunna start pulling the motor out this week... just doing a normal rebuild for now... so i can drive it... good thing i have 3 vehicles...
