After reading that I don't think I'll ever bitch about turbo Buick parts being overpriced again.

I guess they make the pricing so high that other's won't try to clone that car. At $18k, I'll buy the whole car and make some molds so I can make my own damn parts. I would be able to help the Mudstang boys out and sell the hoods for $14k. Any investors?

That's cool !!! I appreciate the offer and if you ever need a hood, I'll sell ya one for $17k What a bargain !!!

I pity da fool !!!

Guy in my town has a Black one. He doesn't "work", the car is worth about 50% of his house, he has no garage, and it sits outside, under trees. I don't know...

I have seen core charges for body panels before. You'd NEVER gess what car it was on.

Give up?

A first gen (99-04) chrysler 300M. They made a limited run of 300M "specials" that had some custom parts. To protect exclusivity they put a core charge on certain things, like the front bumper cover. Absolutely nothing in the same league as the gouging going on for that hood, but same principal. Rumors are out there that harley makes you verify ownership before selling parts for their 100th anniversary bikes, and that is nothing new either. but $20G for a hood? I no longer have any respect for carroll shelby.

Buick did the same thing when the GNX first came out. You had to give them VIN, number on the IC and the car number if you wanted to buy specific GNX parts.
