Need some info on Xzylene.

I have been reading the threads that talk about Xzylene, and would like to know what it does, and how to mix it. Also does it attack any of the components like injectors, fuel pump, pressure regulator, flexible fuel lines ?? Are there differences in brand names? Just your basic education!! Sounds like a good thing to try. Any info would be welcomed. Thanx Turbota.

"its in a clear plastic bottle, contains toluene, its in small print on the back, its the main ingredient. naturally the individual component ingredients are listed too, but they are all part of it.... "

The toluene I buy is in metal containers- i thought toluene and plastic containers did not mix well long term? I also wonder if we should be concerned about the other ingredients. What I buy is straight toluene, nothing else in there.

Following is one of my posts back in December on another forum, fwiw-

"Porter Paints carries Toluene from USA (United Specialties of America, Inc) out of Palm Coast, Florida. Labeled as Toluene, and in parentheses "also known as toluol".

Part # is 1524-05. Label refers to meeting Federal Spec T-T-54d and JAN-T-171, Amendment 2, whatever those are. I guess if you wanted you could check the net for info on those specs.

I did not use Xylene because I found more reports from folks who used Toluene, plus Toluene is already an accepted constituent of pump gas, up to 40%, so I figured it was safer."

BTW, I am now moving away from Toluene because I can get low Lead 100 octane AV gas for just $2.10 per gallon. Not sure how long that pricing will last with the Iraq situation and the gas price increases generally. :(

Try GN T-Type

Try doing a search over on GNTType.org for xylene and then Toluene. There's a specific recipe over there that involves 93 octane fuel, Xylene and Marvel Mystery oil. It works! I've been running Xylene for about a year now, 14 PSI of Boost without it, 17 PSI with it. This is about a 20% mixture of it I'm speaking of, you can run it even stronger if you wish. - BB:p

and think what kind of booost may be available when a PS intercooler is added into the mix! lol. i was gonna try a xylene mix at first but my dad didnt think it safe to do so i got an alky kit instead.

Thanx for the info, and the GNTType tip. I am just trying to stay a little bit ahead of my son's GTP. Thanx again. Turbota.

What was the brand name?? I found some at Walmart for 1.80 a gallon, ,but I couldn't find Toluene anywhere on the bottle??
