When my tranny was built 5 years ago the builder said he drilled out the seperator plate and removed the check balls to firm up the 1-2,2-3,3-4shift and check ball for l/u to lock up conv faster.
It has very hard 1-2 shift, chirps at 15mph,2-3 was ok,3-4 was very hard. When I build it shortly I don't want it to shift so hard at low throttle position.
Bruce will your shift kit do this for me or has he messed up my valve body? I believe he only drilled the sep plate and removed the check balls. I like the neck snapping shifts at 3/8 and greater throttle but not when idling around town-the 1-2 would actually make my CD player skip @12mph and no throttle!
What to look for on the valve body that couldn't be "backed out"? Waiting on lotto so Bruce can build me a real tranny!

Cannot win if you do not play!!!!

We could "adjust" now to tone it down if you like.

My kit will work but I do not feel it may be necessary to install. If I knew a little more about what you have now we could possibly adjust.

not sure

I don't know for sure that it has anything except the plate drilled and check balls removed. I wasn't charged for any extras except blue clutches. I believe nothing was added as far as p/r springs and all the servos etc. are stock.
I might try to freshen it up myself(got a buddy who builds trannys and says he'll will help for free and he's got all the tools)but I'm scared! It works ok except for that famous 2-3 flair.
The conv also has 7's on it!! It's going in the trash! My dentist has a GN and he built his 200 himself. I know PTS "touch" is as priceless as I am dollar-less!! lol
Your kit sounds just like I want mine to perform. I drive a lot on the street and to the track some. I've been ******** around about this for a while now and finally I have it pulled. Time to step up one way or another!
Thanks Bruce,
You are the man!
