Just checked out the activation of my DIY alchy system with the up pipe off and what I noticed is the spray really pulsates out the nozzle (M10).
Is this the pressure limit on the pump switch cutting in & out?

Can I back the setpoint down enough to cause this not to cycle or shouldn't I even worry about it?

What do ya think?

Thats how the pump is suppossed to work if you apply 12 volts to it. Once it hits the pressure threshold of the switch, it will cycle. The basic DIY kit has been operating like that for years, so its not a concern.

I do things a little different by not putting 12 volts on the pump so it doesnt pulse. In other words at 5 volts it will probably run without hitting the pressure limit. And your using an M10, which is probably too small to operate at 60 PSI and do the job. So you may end up getting a larger nozzle, or upping the pressure.

So can I just turn the adjustment screw on the top of pump in a wee bit to up the pressure?
I would rather not change the nozzle at this point but if I did what size would you recommend?

Thanks, paul

You can turn the pressure up or down depending on your motor requirements for alky. I would do an M15 nozzle running it at 60 PSI at lower boost like 20-22 PSI on a mild chip. And take it from there. Watch your turnon point as far as knock is concerned, and add or take away pressure to calibrate the needs. You find a 12 PSI turnon and 20-21 PSI boost attainable. At least you can add or takeway with the pressure without having to change jetting.
