Hi
It seems pretty forward what to do if one goes to strip mainly, but what about longevity issues with highly modified 200R4 transmissions. Given appr. 3800# weight, 500 cid engine and 2.7'ish to 3.00 gears with stock tire size, intend to keep lockup functionality with a mild turbine, in a GM full size STW vintage '88, how do you feel about specific material selections in eg. bands, clutches and stuff.
Car would see very occasional strip runs but mainly 50/50 mix of highway / city driving, annual mileage probably about 10-15k.
It is clearly understood that with these parameters the box has to be quite seriously strengthened. I would however appreciate your insight on this longevity issue, since I would not specifically like to have the trans rebuilt every 5k miles due to wrong material selections. That is, if they do matter in this perspective.
