slight sheetmetal warp below exterior door mirror base - common issue?

Wondering if this is a common issue with all regal owners. Noticed a slight warp below where the outside door mirror meets the door skin. More noticeable on black paint. There is also the same warp on the passenger side door as well. Was this a gasket issue or just a design flaw? Anyone discover a way to prevent the door from having this slight dent below the side mirrors?

That's from people leaning on, pushing on, sitting on or otherwise molesting the mirrors. My car came back from the trans shop that way. Evidently one of the geniuses there thought you could push the car around by the mirrors.
