I took some adderall today for the first time and I don't have ADD or any other disorder that would make it necessary for me to take it. I just new that I had to unload alot of hay today and I had heard that adderall would give me boat loads more energy. About an hour after I took the pill, every muscle in my body seemed to relax and throughout the entire day I was struggling to do my job because I was incredibly tired the whole time. It didn't wear off for 8 hours! What could have caused this? I didn't get a chance to eat that much food before I took the pill, could that have something to do with it?

Don't bash me for asking a bunch of car guys a health question, I just couldn't find any info on it anywhere.

I for get the medical term but adderall has the opposite affect on people who are not medically inclined to take it. For instance a person who had forms of ADD or ADHD would experience symtoms somewhat like yours.. But one who did not need it would be running around like a chicken without a head.. It all depends on how many mg you ingested.

That's why it is a prescription DRUG. It works wonders with my son who is ADHD but the doctor warned that some people that don't need take it to get a buzz. Which is why it is only available in 1 month dose refills. Like all medications it should only be taken as ordered by the Dr. No telling what it could do to you if you don't need it.

College kids crush it up and snort it so they can stay up and study. Has the same effects as cocaine without the addictive symptons. Some have died. Its bad news. (same as Ridilin).

Might have been better off drinking one of those energy drinks.

Well, having been in college not long ago, yes I know people that have taken it to study but I think mainly it is supposed to help you concentrate. I've never heard anyone describe it as giving them energy, just help them be ableto focus more on studying. If it's made for ADHD kids though it would make sense that it also is somewhat of a relaxant to keep them from bouncing off the walls so they can sit down and get their work done.

Ritalin gives you energy if you arent prescribed for it, adderall will keep you and help you concentrate.

I'm definitely going to stick to energy drinks from here on out, it was pretty wierd though three of us ended up taking it, I was tired all day a friend of mine took it also and it had absolutely no effect on him and then this other kid I know ended up taking it and he said it did help him focus and he ended up getting alot of random work done because he had alot of energy that he didn't know what to do with. He's thinking about continuing to take it.

Hey! Next time you get a headache, take a teaspoon or two of fetanyl. Yeah, it's prescription, but WTF. Why not?

I take it, but my family has been prescribed it. It is deffinately a strong stimulant, and can help me study tremendously. That being said it does have its side effects, such as loss of appetite, mood problems, etc. These are very real and heavy side effects that I think comes with prolonged usage. I actually think it is not a good drug, and have not used recently other than finals. Ask my friends, who can tell in the blink of an eye if I have taken it that day. You get sweaty armpits, tapping teeth...no good haha
