sloppy shifts

the stock 2004r i put in my gn came out of a olds delta 88 what i want to know is the gear ratio for the olds was 240`s area and my gn is 343.would that make the gears shift realy fast and sloppy.can i put the govener out of the gn tranny to help shift better. i allready have adjusted the tv cable and it makes no difference on shift.thanks in advance

The GN governor and the Delta 88 valve body are way incompatible.

You'd do better to modify the existing governor by removing weight via drilling or grinding. It is a PITA though with the governor hiding under the pan.

Depends on how high you want your shift points. You`re prolly gonna have to pull it 3-4- 5 times,trial and error start with drilling two 1/4 in. hole in the small weight, remove the spring from the heavy weight.

i removed the govener ground 4 3/32 hole in it changed over to the gn plastic speedo gears and took out the spring it made a big difference thanks
