Sloppy shifts

I just bought another 87 GN, low mileage with 25K, however, I am not pleased with shift quality, it is a brf code, checked to make sure, I adjusted tv cable 2-3 clicks and no improvement any suggestions? Is it time for a shift kit? Normally I feel a difference in shift quality just from adjusting tv cable. Need to know what is next step, shift kit...if so what kind? I want a 1-2 bark, car is stock, no mods yet

Do a Pressure check 1st to see what's up.
Search this site for Pr. check Info.
A Shift Kit wont fix a tired/worn Trans. If Pr. check is Ok a Kit will help.
