I picked up my SMC kit second-hand, so it's possible I don't have all the instructions, even though it seems so.

I have noticed that it turns on ~10 lbs. If it turn the knob to the 9-o'clock position (low), or turn it over to 3-o'clock (high), it still turns on ~10. I expected this 180-270 sweep to change it from ~4psi to ~16psi (or so). Last night I realized that the knob makes a full 360 turn and there is no stop. ???? Is this right?

Now I'm thinking that it takes several full revolutions to adjust several pounds, but I don't want to screw up the control unit. Is this correct? I am comfortable with the 10 lb turn on right now, but in the furure.........???

TIA,
Scott

Scott,

Yep, this is correct. The knob has no stop. I think I remember someone experimenting and said that 1 lb was ~3/4 of a turn.

i remember it was 1/3 of a turn equaling 1 lb. of boost and a full turn is 3 lbs. of boost. But I could be wrong. I'm sure someone will chime in on this.

I think it's about 1 turn = 2 lbs, or so. I blew out my tranny front pump seal while "testing". :D I was just uncomfortable cranking it around without being sure it was meant to do so. I guess all setups are different, but I like it to come on early. It seems to me that boost ramps up faster than the alcohol can get going when set over 10 lbs.

Thanks for the replies.
Scott
