so i started yesterday the tare down yesterday to get all my kinks sorted out seems that insted of doing go fast parts i got alot of fixing to do first il post some pictures we i get the time
i started by pulling of the headers intake intercooler so it was a prety productive day before i took it all apart i finaly got it to fire up turns out the car shippers tryed to to start it a few times and they flooded it so after pulling the plugs letting it sit putting new plugs she fired right up ran fin even with the mass airflow not installed
now for parts wise seems my budget has been made smaller i got gm motor mounts to replace my old stock original ones. headers have been sent off to be cleaned up and the flanges cut i found a ac delco gm orginal maf for 128 in toronto so there i saved alot money and i might be able to still get a chip and a few other small go fast parts sieng that i saved about 400 500 bucks on parts cuz i got the gm motor mounts wich are only 53 bucks a side

Is this a stockish car ??? If so why waste your time pulling the intake.. If it isn't broke why mess with it ??

Oh.......Come on Dan..........Because "HE CAN" He's full of energy, and he's off work on vacation. Pulling an intake is way more fun than Disneyland anyway. Adding a bunch of aluminum shavings/dust from porting it, is just icing on the cake of a GREAT vacation. You're just getting old and don't "love it" like you use to.:p:D

Besides, cleaning the intake is just alot easier off the engine. (and he'll be able to look and see if there is a chunk of head gasket hanging into the lifter valley, which will then be cause for whole new thread.:))

Good luck with your project. If you take your time (and drink the beer AFTER your are done for the day) it will look real nice and shiney under the hood to match the outside. Clean looking car. Personally..........I just CAN'T install an unported manifold (or heads for that matter) I even ported the heads/intake on my daughters 2.8 Chev V6 years ago. Now THAT was a complete waste of time, I tell you, but it didn't really cost me anything to do it. As much of a PIG as thoseengines are, I can't imagine how slow it would have been un ported.

Just yank the whole motor out, it's easier than working in the engine bay. FWIW, when the day comes to pull my valve covers, I'm pulling the engine out instead so it's easier on my back.

i would buy a drivers side H&R motor mount if i was gonna replace them.

i was gonna get the hr mount but for the price i rather try this first car is stock ish i wanna pull intake off because of how dirty the inside of tb was its wierd cuz inlet on turbo is clean and everything else is as well so im gonna asume i got blow back in which case motor is comming out

The oil is coming from the PCV valve. Very common. Pulling the engine will make clean up much easier and you can do it right.

thank you for the nice car comment any one wanna guess what i paid for this when i first purchased

heres what i got done today cleaned painted all the rustys i also polished my turbo but thats not in these shots got my headers all welded up and found what was the noise when car was running altenator shaft was bent and bearing was gone so new one on order also tubular control arms cooper gasquest for header and turbo a new oil feed line plugs wires are also on the list should be on the way soon then il be able to put it all back togeter if no exhaust leaks or noise and after a double oil change / sea foam treatment if shes good to go no knock or timming retard then time to start with the go fast parts

im not talking performance im wonderong how much higher the make the motor sit im after clearance for my down pipe

so parts on order shoupd be ready to rck next week if it runs right then im getting chip joe lunbrant chip injectors fp reg and gauge and te44 turbo

so i had a very productive day today got the old motor months out driver side one was totaly broken in half so heres your sign that was causing all my knock issues and when i got it all bolted up and back togeter i noticed my engine is sitting about 3 to 4 inches higher then it was before so i think i just solved my down pipe clearances issues my control arms and gasquets comme in thursday ima put it all togete rand se how she runs hope its good so then i can start bolting on go fast parts
