The new Mustang will put 275 horses to the rear wheels as prooven by numerous dyno tests published online now. No stock 5.0 pushrod engine could come close. You would be lucky to get 200 horses to the rear wheels on them.
The new ones are about as easy to mod as the LS1's and come to the plate with the same power. JDM here in Jersey has their '05 in the 11's already with gears, ecm reflash, mufflers and pullies.
I sat in an '05 at the dealer and the interior is very nice. The bright trim on the dash is real metal. The rest of the interior is plastic and leather............just like the GTO and every other new car out there.
I find it funny that guys are complaining of too much plastic since EVERY new car has the same amount including our Buicks.
Heck, pretty much all of the GM cars going back to 1968 had their interiors made up of mostly plastic and vinyl.

My buddy bought a new 96 Saleen back in '96 for $28K. He traded it in 6 months later with 5K on it for $17K. Three dealers gave him the same trade in number.

Thes s new modular engines have a life span of about 90-100k and there done. Are they running mis 13's with a supercharger? Our work fleet has replaced half of all ford modular engines we have anything from the sparkplugs blowing otu the heads to major timing chain failures....JUNK

Hey, don't knock Chicks driving mustangs. There was this time me and my little bro were coming home from an event for a club we were in, and this chick in a green Mustang 'vert pulls up in the opposite lane of a 3 laner. Far as Fords being unreliable, our work fleet is mostly Ford. We've had one that lost a motor, but that was after 125K of pulling around a bobtail that carries 12,000+ pounds of propane when loaded, not to mention the chassis weight and tank probably put it well over the 25,000 pound mark. The 429s are good motors. We've also got a 351 and a 302 fleet truck, neither have died, they just have no balls and neither really have much transmission left. Neither have been treated even close to a semblance of kindly either. Now the boss's triton 5.4 is another rant entirely. The dual fuel system (it runs both propane and gasoline) has been nothing but trouble, being replaced 3 or 4 times, at the tune of $1500 a pop and within 65K. What a POS, if it had one of the old fashioned vacuum based feed systems on it instead of that computer controled crap it'd run fine.

The mod motors are quite durable and I know some guys who have close to 200k on their 4.6's. Yes mid 13's without a supercharger are very possible.
I work for a fleet leasing company (500,000+ vehicles) and the only mod motor that has been trouble prone is the 5.4 with them spitting spark plugs out. Timing chain failures are not common.

"Nice" is a very subjective term. I agree that it's a nice car, but I don't like the interior or the front/rear of the car. Others may love those aspects... different strokes for different folks.

I'm not partial... I also thought the plastic interior in my Buick left a lot to be desired! Like I said, I don't mind plastic interiors. I just prefer them not to be so gaudy.
