Have a plan for the car , how much time and money will you be wanting to spend every year. Then start with the basics and keep going. The vortex Buicks is a good read and then get on here and read & read.:D Welcome and enjoy the car

Invest the $1,500 in something else to make money, trading gold, guns, ammo etc until it is $15,000, then spend it on the Buick.

He's not kidding. $1500 is a drop in the bucket. Keep it simple and enjoy it or be ready to feed it like a bad habit lol. My car was stock until about 16 months ago. I don't even want to add up how much I've spent on the mods listed in my sig, not to mention the countless other repairs etc..

Id research your combo duplicate a known good combo and goals and start buying parts....Keep buying till you got them all then take a winter and put your car together one thing theres a lot of upgrades you can make for safety while leaving your car stockish and running good....Like brakes, suspension, rear end, wheels and drag radials, gauges scanmaster and powerlogger, exhaust, and when you do uprades do one thing at a time then run the car so that way if you have a problem you know what you changed to cause it.....Otherwise you can start your own nightmare real fast!!! Oh yeah and BTW Dont daily drive your GN in Detroit!!!!!!!

Ditto- with 50K on trans as soon as you start bumping things up you gonna have to beef up trans. Preserve/conserve, your car will keep more value. Wanna go fast- buy one thats done. My first estimate for ll's was $3000.00 haha what a joke that was. Learn to tune and have fun.. I don't know why I waste my time- none of you guys with near stock cars listen. Have fun, go ahead and get a part time job.

Lmao. Good thinking!

Scan tool $200-300
Fuel pump $125
Hot wire $12
Alky $550
Drag radial $450
Ex cutout $50

Skip the alky, spend that coin on a nice exhaust system if still stock

Ya 1500 budget makes it tough to decide....The most cost efficient way is to not buy one stock....My buddy did that and only has to buy something he wants to make it look better or when something breaks and needs replaced...

I would spend it on making sure that you have a good rear suspension set up. All the power in the world means nothing if you can't put it through to the ground. Those are parts that once done are pretty much good to go for a long time. Then you can get the other things as you can afford them (with the exception of the scanmaster... necessity).

Even bone stock they still need new valve springs, timing chain, rocker buttons, roller cam button, hotwire kit, fuel pump, chip, injectors, plug wires, radiator, and a complete fluid flush.

X1000!!!

Basics, basics, basics.... (and of course the scanmaster).
Doing otherwise will end up costing you a lot more money when you break something.
Once you have the car up to speed, then you can spend money on the goodies. The suggestion about getting a part-time job was not a joke... Welcome to the Darkside.
