At first glance, I thought, what the hell are these people doing to these prisoners? But, if you put it in the context of trying to get information to stop the killing of our soldiers, it doesn't seem so serious. After all, nobody was decapitated. Nothing like the almost fainting of the democratic lawmakers upon seeing more pictures of naked prisoners. As the news drones on and on about this matter, it seems to me it's much to do about, not much. This is a great way to dennigrate the military, while saying they support the military. Just more undermining of the Military, the President and more directly, Rumsfeld.

If you take into consideration having to serve in that absolute hell-hole of a country, I have to say that I feel bad for those accused of the socalled prisoner abuse. Not many Americans, on the whole, have to put up with the suffering and depression of being in that place for a year or more.

The liberal press has a field day. The President can only lament the bad press. I don't think he should have apologized and I hope he doesn't address it anymore. The liberals only demand perfection from Republicans and everyone who serves under them.

Media has already forgot about the guy getting his head sawed off but prisioner abuse is still front page news. UNLESS it's to blame it on the military.

I wonder why:rolleyes:

Oh I am NOT a Navy Seal. Just an ignorant racist in the Navy.:D

BAABAABBAABAABAA:p

Im buying more parts off you !
CAUSE I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK
Keep telling the truth

I just wonder how much Bin Laden is paying NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN, to get his message out?.

He's said all along the Americans have no stomach for war, and so far he's pretty close to being right.

Not to mention how he's got the Feds, and the Airlines afraid of their own shadows.

Yep, most Americans have already surrendered.

Pity, Home of the Brave, has gotten lost in the shuffle. 100+ people taken hostage with 4 box cutters.
What happened to "Give me Liberty, or Give Me Death"?.
Yet, folks will die over a $20 robbery.
Makes ya wonder what we as a country are about now. So many just look at the price sticker, buy a foreign product, and then whine about jobs going overseas. Dugh, what's wrong with that picture.

What's the matter? Am I off base here? It's easy to condemn people when you can get up and get into your air conditioned car, and drive the mall anytime you want.

I definitely agree. American civilians have no right to sit in their comfy Lazy Boy's and condemn soldiers who are in completely different world than we can ever imagine.

In some ways I see it going the ways of Vietnam where soldiers were deemed murderers and baby-killers by people who had no idea of the horrors and psychological stress that our soldiers had went through.

There is no way for a civilian to ever understand the stress our troops are under over there. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

I was agreeing with you, and just elaborating on what my feelings were.

It really frosted me, for some Draft Dodging, drunks/dopers, to act like they were walking the moral high ground. Not to mention folks that just had no clue.

There's a fine line, IMO, between being anti-war, and just being a coward hiding behind being politically correct. More then 3 sentences usually shows their true feelings thou. Sad thing is so many people are now confused about what the truth is about matters such as this. It's tragic so many people have really missed out on the real lessions of 9/11.

People!!!

We are a civilized Country/Nation. We SOULD RISE ABOVE degrading/abusing people like it was done. We should have RESEPECT for them. We all know that it is degrading for a Muslim male to be naked in front of another male, maybe they would want to kill themselves because of that, is that going to get the information out of them? There are other ways.

However, they obviously are not civilized if 5 guys cut the head off of an obviously restrained and outnumbered man and hide behind thier masks, just like a bunch of cowards.

Bruce, I know you were. Just surprised not more reaction to the thread.

Hey, SARIN GAS just found in an artillery shell for use as an improvised roadside bomb. No WMDs found, however.

This thread is simple. If they can get away w/ more extreme means of extraction of info I'm fine with that. But America holds it's own millitary to a higher moral code than others. We are the guys with the white hats. It's a slippery slope. It's saying one thing and doing another. "Liberal Media" aside, aren't we in a different/ unprecedented time now where news cannot go un discovered for long? can anyone comment on the "facts" here and try to leave the partisanship out?

John McCain seems to think what we are doing is wrong. Could it be that not all republicans think alike? Hmmmmmmmmm

I do agree it is being overplayed, let the military deal with it and move on!

Its hard to be logical when you are angry

You know iam young but i think that everybody feels close to what we all think about how this is crazy and these means may not be the antidote for getting what we want. but even though everybody might know it or think it, nobody with enough power wants to say it, why?? i dont understand. everybody has something to say yet nobody says it, the people that do say it (protesters) get nothing done. they let you protest only to shut us up, we dont run this country "they" run this country its a sad story. i believe in a eye for an eye but will that get it done? we went in there and blew the sh!t out of the country why are the still their. now iam not big on politics becuase i think its a joke its a rich mans game. i dont vote because i dont think it really makes a difference if they want this person to win guess what he will win. what this country was founded on is not want this country is about any more, the greatest thing about the constitution is the fact the ppl can change it. then why was there a big deal about the gays trying to get married, and the fact ppl were saying it was unconstutional guess what times change so what.. i dont understand my main point here is the fact i think this is all a joke. how come none of the big dog politicians have their kids in the military. and even if they did we all know they would be in the back somewhere makin coffee for the general or something that has nothing to do with battle.

sorry if this is long normally i dont get into political talks because it makes no sense to me
by the way iam not gay i just think ppl can do what they want.
ok back to racin my car and havin fun ;)

I am for taking out the enemy any way we can. I don't find the prisoner abuse, so abusive, when you compare it to what this enemy does to our people. Treat em as nice as you want, but won't make any difference to the enemy. I don't have agree with the high standards that the military happens to enforce. Like the officer who was relieved of his duty because he fired his weapon next to the guys head. In my view, he'd of only been wrong if he fired his weapon INTO the guys head.

Leave the partisan, ship out? How convenient that would be. Besides the enemy, the democrats and the people on the left, by their unwillingness to support the war on terrorism, are responsible for more deaths of American soldiers, than anybody else.

Sorry but that's only true in kids games. There is nothing good or OK, about war. It terrible nasty business, and it's only used as a last resort. The trouble is folks want just Warm Fussies, and that don't exist in war. War is about death, and breaking things. It's this quasi, liberal, warm fuzzy police carppe that just gets Americans killed, Korea, Nam, and now Iraq. We decapitated the government there, and now it should be time for the good guys of Iraq to take charge. But, no, in some moronic lunacy, we disbanded their army, and police force, and had them turn in there weapons, so now we're forced to sit around and play some silly games, while the clowns in DC try to figure out what went wrong.

Nothing we do from here on out will ultimately effect the outcome over there. It's the Iraqii people that will have to make up their minds about what they're willing to sacrifice to have a democratic government or not.

In war you play the game to win, or not, there is no middle ground. To win a war you have to know your enemy, and be willing to make him die. If not then don't play the game. Bin knows us, and is making all the right calls, and the majority of Americans are playing right into his hands. Look at how at first there was outrage over 9/11, and now it's about a city, playing victim. There's more worried about death benefits then the long term effects. Not to mention that the only reason this is actually a war is for insurance purposes.

You hit the nail on the head.

I doubt they will.
