To start out lets say i overheated my trans and melted some parts. Its a built 200 that worked amazing. I had the parts replaced by a local guy in the club who builds trans as well. He just replaced the bad parts, center support, direct drum(or forward drum, not sure) and 2nd gear band. After i put it back in i did not have OD. It sat for awhile because i was mad at it and had a few other cars to work on too. Sothis weekend i pulled the valve body and found what he said to be true, stuck 3-4 valve. Cleaned it out and put it back together and voila, OD again. BUT, now my 2-3 shift is soft and hesitates.

It needs a battery and wont hold a charge, i can jump it but it dies. Its low on gas and its about 7mo old gas at that.

Any thoughts?

TIA, Scott

So i took it out of the garage and let it warm up while i washed it. Checked the fluid level, it was a little lower than i normally have it overfilled to. Added a little and took it to get gas. Shifted perfect thru all gears up til and a little after i got gas. Then it started soft shifting again and then slipping in 3rd AND fourth. WTF? Come on, wheres all the trans gurus that are supposed to be around.

im not a guru but i wanted to know how much do you normally over fill? are you still running the stock style filter and stock pan ? non of these questions will help with your issue, i am just wondering is all.

Hung pressure regulator maybe?Does it slip in any other gear?IM just thinking if the other valve was hung there maybe more that is.Did you flush the cooler before installing the trans?

I myself have been dealing with a crappy 2-3 shift. My trans has been out way to many times tring to fix it.I have tried a VB,center support, different servos, different case, bigger boost valves,a shift kit, alittle more tv pressure, changed the direct drum.I just installed a Sonnax super servo and it seems to have helped.I dont have the cash to dual feed it and get the billet drum so i have been do everything i could with out spending the big bucks.

I overfill to the s curve on the dipstick when its hot.

1st and 2nd gear seem fine. I dont get how i had nice positive shifts and then goes to slipping. I was adjusting the tv cable but only a notch in and one out and that was it.

Im just gonna pull and take it back to the original builder. He said it could be a few different things and this was the easiest way to do.

After he told me about over filling the tranny and blowing it out the bleed hole,I asked him to put a pressure gauge on it to check pressure, but he never did..I also asked about the boost valves when I had it apart, but he stated they were good..

Dont put words in my mouth, i never said the boost valve was good because i wouldnt know. I knew that a better one was installed but thats it. I just pulled it because i lost 4th gear and then 3rd so was no point in getting pressure reading. I just pulled it and took it back to the original builder.
