Popular BBC tv show called Top Gear- They test supercars and have fun, car shennanigans. They have a special race car driver who sets benchmarks for them to try and match when the run certain cars. They call him The Stig. (Always in a white racing suit and mask-never takes them off, never speaks)

Sounds lame, I know. You have to watch it. It's one of my wife's favorite shows! Go figure.

A couple of nights ago my wife (not a gearhead at all) was watching Project Runway and declared: "This show isn't as good as Top Gear."

I tried not to act too excited but was thinking "SWEET!".

My wife HATES that show. Mainly the british accents. I get tired of the near constant america/american car bashing. It would be a LOT better show if it wasn't so damned british.

The show is hilarious and I'm glad American networks won't make a U.S. version.

Seeing that ZR1 driven like it should be was a riot. Seeing that challenger FAIL was also a riot. Could not keep up with the Vette and CTSV.


"The Stig" was revealed as Michael Schumacher at the beginning of this season, but pretty sure it was a ploy. His lap around the test track in the FXX was not...beat the best by 7 seconds!

Our crew chief (British) said that in their equivalent to NASCAR the Stig would show up to drivers meetings with the gear on.....never removing the helmet.

Watch the American Road Trip 1. They had to go to Miami and find 1 car each for less than $1000, then drive them to New Orleans with "challenges along the way".

One of the challenges was to find and eat whatever they found on the side of the road...Clarkson showed up with a dead bloated cow tied to the roof of his 84' Camaro. It was genius.

These guys are not only funny as hell, but they certainly can drive.

"The Stig" was revealed as Michael Schumacher at the beginning of this season, but pretty sure it was a ploy. His lap around the test track in the FXX was not...beat the best by 7 seconds!

That episode is at least a season old. And the only reason why they used Schumacher as The Stig that time was because he's the only person Ferrari would let drive the FXX. All a ploy because The Stig isn't human anyway.
