Well since I dont do that twitter crap, this is close as it gets

Major Industrial painting company took in 274 applications in Oct, Today it was down to 2 people, myself and another guy.

We were sitting in the HR office by ourselves, the other guy starts telling me he has been out of work since June, wife and 3 kids, losing his home etc, said he was up most of the night praying and I could tell he was sincere by the look on his face.

Anyway a long story short I went first, They at that point told me it was down to Me or Him So during the final interview I was getting tech questions tossed at me.. no problem, then I just stalled out for a sec and purposely blew a trick question that I knew the answer to, I had the job in hand based on talking to the other guy out in the waiting area, He was asking me questions about certain products and I was helpin him a bit but anyway.. Did I need the job? Not really, IM working now and so is my woman.

I just felt bad for the guys situation, I hope it works out for him at his new job

Very magnanimous of you. I'm a firm believer of Karma, pay it forward, DWJWD, et al and you loaded up your reserve today :)

Very nice of you.........things like that I believe get paid back.

That was the most unselfish thing I have heard of in a long time! God bless you Mike! Merry Christmas!

What a guy! Good on ya mate!

I've been in the same position Mike, and did the exact same thing. Those that don't will suffer later on. Good for you bud.

It's nice to see there are still human beings on this earth. Good Karma always comes back around......;)

Did you lose out on money, or was it just a job that interested you more than your current job?

I commend you for your actions ---

Mike I guess ya get the big "atta boy" award for the day  Listen I know a poor old guy with a bad leg .. He isn't workin either.. If ya want to help him out Ill given you his paypal address. He is really hurting and anxious to get his Mazda running :p

Don't know ya man. But you sound like a great guy Mike. So don't take this too hard. I'm a d!ck sometimes. K, mosta the time.

Um, great move? Maybe. Feel good? Yup! Karma? Excellent! Reality? He mighta had a great poker face to phych you out and quizzed you for competitive reasons. A position of weakness gains candid responses. It wasn't down to two candidate's of which only one had the requisit knowledge.

Me? I'd have written down and handed him my current employer's contact with instruction's to 'give it a few weeks if his interview doesn't go as well as I felt mine had.' Same Karma but mutual potential advancement.

Happy Holidays, you've earned yours either way!:D

Neither one of us knew ahead of time it was down to just us, I went first and only learned that going in but the guy looked destitute.

Anyway thanks for the kind replys, been a rough few weeks loosing old friend etc so maybe I'll wake up with a new power logger under my pillow for being such a softy.

Mike

Mike, YOU ARE THE MAN! and I highly respect you. You may have saved a families home, holidays and more. I wouldn't worry about if he was making it up, like said above What goes around, Comes around.
