How do you get these things out and what size are they im getting new speakers for my car i just dont know what.

thanks

First you take the upper dash panel out by removing the 6 (I think it's 6) torx screws. Then you need an offset phillips to remove two screws per speaker. A phillips bit in a 1/4" drive ratchet also works. They are 3 1/2" round speakers and you should have no trouble finding replacements at Best Buy, Circuit City, Crutchfield, etc.

Let me know if what you replace them with works. I just bought Pioneer 31/2" coax speakers and the tweeter extends too high. I'm about ready to put the stock tweeters back in.
It takes a lot of patience to get all the torx screws out and the speakers are easy if you have a 90 degree phillips.

Rick, let me know before you throw those away. I might be able to use them in another application. Cheap of course. Don't forget I brought you that balancer! Hehe.

Gotcha covered John. I just dont see a way to use these speakers although I've read through the archives and they are used regularly by others. Maybe if I wanna bust the grill strips out. For now I just don't have the dash piece on that covers them.

My 3.5 inch Alpines fit fine in the front. Sound great too. A couple of those torx screws were put in at an angle, so you have to approach them at an angle or you may round them out. I have a 12 inch Dayton subwoofer in the trunk. Check out the Dayton at www.PartsExpress.com . It's about $100 and will thump with those costing twice as much. A friend of mine is a dealer, too, if anybody wants one. He might be able to save you a little money. If you want a box for it, either make your own to fit on the package shelf or buy one at www.millionbuy.com . I think they are about $59.
