Here is the list of parts and fluids I am going to get when I run to the local Autozone. I just wanted to run this by everyone to make sure I am getting the correct parts. Here is the list:

Six Quarts 10W30 full synthetic (brand unknown for now)
PF52 Oil Filter
Felpro A/T Pan gasket Part#: TOS18662
Duralast A/T Filter Part#: TF400
Dex 3 Fluid
3 Cans o2 safe carb cleaner
E3 Plugs from Kirban Performance
Spark Plug wires from Kirban Performance
Fuel Filter from Kirban
PCV From Kirban
ZDDP from Kirban

I am not sure what part numbers to get for the rear end diff cover or the type of fluid I should use, if you could recommend this for me. The other question I have is about fuel socks. A while ago, I bought a 340 Walboro Pump from a board member. It came with the pump, and the plug adapter for the buick plug. No fuel sock, so I was researching and I heard the FS30 fits best.

Thanks in advance,
ZNix

I'd skip the E3 plugs. Stick to the AC heavy duty 43s or something like that. Much cheaper too!

i run ngk ur5's with good results gapped at .028 FWIW...

and why the synthetic? it seems to be a pretty well respected fact that zddp with dino oil works great and it'll cost ya half as much!! if you really wanna spend the $ tho, i'm sure most would agree it would be more beneficial to use dino/zddp and change it twice as often :) again, i'm far from an expert, but there's my .02

Skip the synthetics and change more often.:rolleyes:Money can be spent elswhere:D

Okay so non synthetic oil with ZDDP added. The spark plugs came with the car when I just bought it, so should I still buy the CR43's? And does anyone know the answer to the question I left at the end?

Thanks
ZNix

Don't use the CR43's...they are meant for commercial truck usage and will foul out on you.

Forget the Delco filter too. Get a Wix, K&N or Mobil 1.

K&N and Mobil1 are the same company. K&N just has the nut on it!!!

Beat me to it Al. Stay away from the cheap oil filters. We had a car here that broke the engine in on a phram filter and during break in had great pressure. After break in it didn't have much. Got rid of the phram and then it was back up to proper pressure.

As far as the fluid in the differential I put Lucas in mine along with the posi additive. Nothing fancy, but leave the cover off for at least a day so most of the old oil will drain out. Use a can or 2 of cheap carb cleaner to flush the rest out and then seal it back up. Fill it back up and go.

Do you have part numbers for the Wix or K&N Filters? The previous owner had a fram filter on it :o. Ah well. So here is the updated list:

Six Quarts 10W30 non-synthetic.
Wix/K&N Oil filter (whatever part #?)
Felpro A/T Pan gasket Part#: TOS18662
Duralast A/T Filter Part#: TF400
Dex 3 Fluid
3 Cans o2 safe carb cleaner
R43TS Plugs @.028 gap.
Spark Plug wires from Kirban Performance
Fuel Filter from Kirban
PCV From Kirban
ZDDP from Kirban

Thanks,
ZNix

Just read updated post. You can get the correct PVC at autozone. Make sure you get the plastic one... It seals 100% and no blowby

Nope! They are just a heavy duty version with a thicker electode and strap. Heat range is the same (one step cooler than the stockers).

Yup...and that heat range colder is an issue in a street driven car.
I ran a set once, and after about 1000 miles they started causing me to sputter and pop under boost.

Changed the plugs back to R43TS's (after getting scolded by Papa Lou to stay away from the CR's :D ) and the problem went away.

I kept the last set of R43TS's in there for a full year. Put them in on Memorial day weekend 2010, and replaced them on Memorial Day weekend 2011 so I had a fresh set for racing at LA Invasion...but the year old R43TS's were still running fine and looked pretty good when I pulled them....easily had 12000 hard earned miles on them.

For a day at the track, or in a car that does not get driven much, you may never see a problem with CR's....but with a daily driver that see's a lot of action...they do create a problem, eventually.

Ran them 6 years with no issues, stock to lightly modified. Went to UR5s and like them too.
