Hey all,

Got a 218/222 w/ .463 lift in. and .465 ex. flat tappet cam made by Comp. Cams. The tech guy at Comp. said he needed the installed height to recommend springs, is this true? I am sure that he is not very familiar w/ the turbo motor and that many of you might be able to guide me BEFORE I put it all together. I do not know how to measure what he said he needed, nor do I have the measuring tool. One more thing, since this is more of a 'top end' cam, should I install it 2 or 3 degrees advanced to help bottom end?
Thanks so much.

Lee

if your machinest is building your heads he should be able to tell you your installed height.

if your doing them yourself its easiest if you get the tool.

I generally set mine up at 1.75-6 installed height with about 120 to 125 lbs of pressure. most use a comp 981 on the flat tappet.
