Heres the deal. I like the stance my car currently has with the old worn out springs. I am rebuilding the front end with new parts when I get the time. Build will have all new wear parts including GBody parts upper A arms. Then some new billstiens. Not looking for a slot car but I would like it to handle a little better. Would it be a bad Idea to leave in the factory springs? What are the cons of leaving them in?

As you can see right here in this forum, guys get into problems because the new springs they have purchased, don't do what they had envisioned. Why not stick with the stockers at first, and if you're not satisfied with their performance, then try aftermarket springs.

Thanks for the reply. I dont really want to do the job twice if I dont have to. What will I notice if anything performance wise using the old springs? Body roll? My suspension is so overdue for a rebuild I really dont remember what a good handling G-Body is like?
If I could make my T handle as good as my daily driver I would be ecstatic. My daily driver is a 2003 Impala.

There are several threads about making a GM metric chassis handle on the board..One thing I can advise before you decide to change the springs is to get the car weighed. I'm not talking total weight but where the weight is per wheel. What's the cross weight and the front to rear bias. This is important so you can figure out where the car is placing it's foot print.

Here's a couple of threads you might want to read to get some info.:)
