Guys and Gals,

I am putting together a wet sump, 4.0 plus bore,
stage 2 headed motor with a pt-88. What cam
specs are your guys running with this combination?
I would like 1200hp potential "like alan witter's car"
There is a cam I can pick up for cheap that has
the following specs

I E
261 @.50 263@.50
.715 lift .697lift

I will be running a small tire and stock type suspension
with a t400 and 8 ionch 5500 converter.

Thanks in advance.

John,

What is the LSA on that cam and what kind of RPM do you think you will turn?

Neal

FYI

I'm building an engine with similiar components. It's a wet sump, 4.040 bore, 3.59 stroke moldex, 6.5 rod. stage 2 headed engine. My erson cam card reads:
264/260 @ .050
.688 valve lift
112 LC

Hope this helps

More info

Neal,

The lobe sep is 112 and it is rated for max hp @ 7000 .
With just getting married I don' think I can afford to run it much
higher than 7500rpm. Finding a forged crank is hard and paying
fo a billet is even harder =(
How is your car coming along?

STP,

Please tell me more about your combination.
Your cam sounds like a Lou Czarnota unit.

Thanks for the responses

John,

I agree with Mike that the cam sounds like a winner. I was hoping you weren't going to say it was on 107-108 LSA like an aspirated cam. The 112 LSA with the lift and duration #'s sound like they'll make for a good combo.

As for my combo, things are back together and the car has made some passes in the 10.30's which isn't too bad for a 3700# car but not exactly what I'm looking for either. I'm working on a fuel system problem (top end lean condition) when I get that sorted out I'm sure things will come around.

Good Luck and congrats on the marriage.

Neal

PS: Contact me if you're still looking for a crank

Hey Neal do you have extra forged crank? Im looking for one to for my 3.8 S2 off center.

P.S. Im the guy who stopped to help when your powermaster quit on the way home from LV. Im glad the hammer trick not only works on starters.

John, glad to see your still working on SJ. Will you be attending the F-body race in Bakersfield?

This post is sorta related to s2 cam selection right?

Not Sure

Steve,

I don't think that I will have the car finished in time.
I have to finish my stock type motor. Then I will have
some extra cash.

John

stock motor? i thought that this was a stage 2 forum.............hmm..............muust have found some sucker to buy a stock motor
