After four months, engine overhaul, Xmsn rebuild, upgraded turbo, intercooler, injectors, custom cam, and all new plumbing and she started on the first pull. On the third start she broke the crankshaft position sensor we'll have a new one in the morning. We'll start making ajustments tomorrow, maybe roadworthy in a week. :)

Need Ideas

Well, the crank position sensor was replaced today and still no luck. The old sensor had contacted the harmonic balacer and broke so we thought this was the problem. Apparently something else happened too. We're not getting any fire from the coil so we changed the chip and next we will change out the ECM.

Anyone have any ideas?

We've checked every connection. Did I mention that we have a new wiring harness installed while the engine was being overhauled.

We ran the car for about 30 minutes when we first cranked it and when we tried to rev it up the crank position sensor broke and the engine quit. Could this have caused other breakage? Help!!!!

Did you make sure the three reluctor rings on the balancer are ok? Believe it or not I've had one bend so that it missed the slot in the sensor completely but it looked fine at first glance.

Also, how to you like the Z06?

The Z is a blast, Had it down to MTI for the tuning a few weeks ago. 483 hp at the rear wheels.

BTW - Cool 84, thanks for the advice I'll check it.

Checked the reluctor ring, it's fine.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Changed the ECM and it now runs. Trying to get some tuning done, it cuts off whenever I put it in gear. Hooking up the Turbolink today and see what gives.

Was the ECM a reman unit?

Got it, Bad chip. put the stock chip back in and we're running. Put an order in with Eric today for a chip that fits my setup. This forum is great, got some good input on this and that made it relatively painless to get it running after all the changes and mods....Thanks everyone.....Frank
