Recently had them transport a fender from MI ( BWJones ) to NY ( me ). Took 9 days----was misrouted twice----had to call them twice to find where it was---showed up damaged---and ran Bruce and I through the ringer to recover $200 worth of insurance. Did I mention it took several calls ( as in more than a dozen ) and over 5 weeks for them to settle the claim. They are just an awfull company to deal with. Please avoid them if at all possible, and pass on the word. Brian

I agree completely. I wish Gbodyparts would stop using them.

Bought an NOS camshaft, showed up WET!

Bought a new grille (when they were available), box is all beat to hell but miraculously the grille is undamaged. I should have taken a pic of the box, Bweavy wrote DON'T CRUSH in huge black letters that a blind man could read, and the box is all F'ed up.

Kinda funny, the guy that delivers the parts is a gbody guy and recognized the grille instantly when I unboxed it to inspect, and he's a pretty cool guy. But somewhere along the line the parts are getting beat up. No flames to gbodyparts, but they should find a different company.

I hate DHL! They have screwed up almost everything I have ever shipped with them!

I had to drive just about twenty miles away to get to their nearest shipping terminal...then it took all of an hour to locate the package....I 2nd that..they do suck.

Amen to that. I thought I read a while back that they were aware DHL sucked and were going to stop using them. But everyone is still getting their GBP orders in the good ol' red and yellow boxes...

We stopped using DHL 2 months ago.
Fed ex back in April
USPS last month.
UPS really sucks but that is who we are using.
I use DHL & left over Fed ex boxes just to piss off UPS

If some one knows of a great shipping company or has that tele portation device built let me know. Our efficiency would go up 1000% !!!

I work for FED EX HOME DELIVERY....by the time the packages get to me for delivey sometimes the boxes are beat to HELL...Its up to the driver to have the package opened and inspected and repackaged if possible.;)

It is mostly a regional thing on which company is good or not. We ship 200 boxes a day UPS and 50-75 Fed Ex. UPS is always top notch, never a problem with claimes, lost packages, etc. Fed Ex we always have problems with damage, getting paid on claims, losing stuff.

Other areas, people say it's completely opposite.

Ditto, I had so many items I received damaged from Fed Ex that I refuse to ship with them anymore. You can tell that they drop their packages right off the truck. I called them, and besides being a bitch to resolve a claim, the lady tells me that "we are hard on our packages" and they need to be packed well. I'm thinking, "you gotta be kidding me"! THATS their excuse??? I usually ship USPS with no issues and UPS if I have a large package with no issues as well. UPS is very good with claims though.

Oh and avoid dealing with canadians. No offense to anyone here, but 75% of my transactions with canadians I either get a damaged or misrepresented item. This is over a 7 year span. So unless its racetronix or something, I try not to buy or sell to canada.

It's all about properly packaging and labeling a shipment. This goes a long way to preventing problems.

You can get burned on either side of the border. No one society has a better track record than the other.

Research the seller and have clear pictures of the item before sending off your money. Preferably pay for any item with a CC which provides good buyer protection. Make sure you instruct the seller to package the item properly (MOST PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE A CLUE ON HOW TO PACKAGE AN ITEM) Insist on insuring the item for its full replacement value. Always ask for a tracking number with signature on delivery. Never ship air mail or via any service which does not provide tracking.

Happy Holidays

Very good point, and I am not trying to flame canadians personally (well I guess I am) but it seems much easier for them to misrepresent because a lawsuit or even a trip across the boarder would be more difficult than here in the U.S.. Anyhow, I have been lied to and most of my BAD transactions were with canadians, but not from a "damaged item" standpoint. I've had superpackaged items however shipped fedex and they deem it ok to toss their boxes from the truck to the concrete I guess. You should see some of the stuff that was damaged that you wouldnt believe how well it was packed.

I must be lucky.I just got two big boxes of parts from cali in 2 days and it was dhl. I like ups. I was on usps website maybe i was reading wrong but they give you free boxes and will send them to you for free also:confused: That is not huge boxes but still thats cool.
