DHL is the worst carrier of any.Anytime I have ever shiped dhl it either gets lost or broken mostly broken. The last epsode w/dhl my wife was sitting in the house herd tires squeling a big thud then tires agian.the dhl driver slid in the driveway threw the box agianst the door and broke it then took off leaving black marks on the driveway and at the end of the road.

I worked in a Fed-Ex Ground shipping terminal as a package handler/destroyer a few years back. You would be amazed how some packages are handled. If you're going to put the "fragile" label on the package, you might as well put "toss me like a frisbee" right below it because its going airborn either way. Almost all shipping companies have this problem, they have too much volume not enough people to move them and want things done lick-a-dee split.

For US to Malaysia, its DHL or dont bother. Not that other items wont show up... its:

1. Taxes/Duty will kill you sometimes but DHL is better than other options
2. DHL stuff shows up still looking like a package. Regular "slow boat"? Not so much.
3. Slow boat - anything other than express delivery will be SLOW. Otherwise its 4 or 6 or 8 weeks to get your stuff. IF it shows up. DHL is damn fast. FedEx is quick but DHL has better success with tax/duty.

Outbound FROM Malaysia is different.

I agree that anything out of the country DHL is best. Thats just an opinion and I make that opinion based on cost, delivery time etc. Anything in the US, I stick with UPS or USPS because I have had too many damaged items shipped fedex and then given a hassle about insurance claims.
