Why not 13 vane over 10 vane ?

Just curious, why not the Delco 13 vane pump over the 10 vane for a full race application???

Not really much difference. I'll let some of the others give their opinions but I have had good luck with the 10.Not to say the others don't work just thats what we use.

From a performance standpoint, there won't be much of a difference. Wasn't much difference between the original 7-vane unit and the 10-vane. The additional vanes are for improved NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) criteria.

The 13-vane rotor may actually be pushing the strength limit, however. It's really carved up to acommodate all those extra vanes over the original design.

I would use nothing else but 13 vane rotor. The 10 will get the job done but with no other changes other than rotor I have seen more pressure, quiet operation, quick pressure rise.
