Stock and stage 2

What is the difference between stock and stage2? Was the stage two products developed by GM.

Stock is stock. Stage II was developed for racing by buick. The stage II motors went in Indy cars, ARCA cars, Bush Grand National cars, circle dirt track cars etc. Better block, bigger displacement.

What about stage I? Didn't they also have a stage I 3.8 V6 turbo?

How much bigger displacement?

The stage blocks were over the counter correct?
