Just thought I would share .. have had tuning issues with a customers GN ... found the stock injector harness rubbed against intake and partially shorted the harness .... replaced it with a new one and car ran flawless .... idle was much smoother ... car ran SPOT on ... I am amazed at just how bad the stock harness are after 26 years :)

I won't even attempt to tune a car with a stock harness unless it was a one owner never opened engine. I've thrown away a lot of harnesses

This was a 1 OWNER all original MINT LOW mile GN ... Never gonna take the chance again... Lesson learned .. from now on when the cars get new injectors they will all get new injector harness at the same time .. for the extra $75 its a no brainer .. I spent hours chasing this issue.

Sometimes the wiring gets cooked by the EGR.

Yes but what I think really kills the harness is AGE and repeated heat cycles that are inherent to a turbo motor.. they simply dry rot... when the harness gets dry and rigid then it will rub through.. just glad its resolved and customer is a happy camper now.

Hmm, may have to be on my list for next year..
Thnx, Good Info!

I had the same problem
In 1988. Dealership replaced all the injectors before they figured out it was the harness. Had another GN that would intermittently blow the INJ Fuse because of the harness grounding out under hard excelleration.

Why I never buy "used" INJ harnesses
No matter the deal - unless it is still in the box. :D
When you take them off a 25 year old car, they just feel so brittle, like they are going to break in your hand.
