I'm about to freshen a trans for a buddy and he is adding a billet shafted forward drum but planning to keep the stock input shaft. I'm doing some reading that is telling me the end of the stock shaft needs to be cut to fit the billet drum. Is this the case on all varieties of billet drums? Drum came from Husek if it matters.

If so, what needs to be cut? I got a stock drum and shaft that I just dug out of my parts collection but the billet part is at work. I got a buddy with a lathe who can do it, he just handed me the cut 4th piston today.

I'm sure I will, just bored on a Saturday night and thought id post it vs buggin him :D

So this thread sparked my ambition up . Based on a dial caliper comparison to a stock drum and fitting with a stock shaft it doesn't appear to have any depth issues
