How far can you push the stock rods with ARP rod bolts?? Typical street Buick stock stroke, center billet caps, forged crank, forged pistons. Looking to run mid/low 11 on a safe tune?? Would they hold for bein a street driving Buick and maybe some track races here and there????

Plenty of people running in the tens with stock rods.

It looks like you're almost there as you have a forged crank and pistons, why not just step up and get forged rods and know you can go faster in the future.

Most would recommend better rods when running low tens and faster.

When we do a new build with all forged rotating parts, new forged rods are certainly included.

In all the years of damaged engines, we have yet to see a stock rod, or stock rod bolt, that was broken. Some have twisted and bent due to detonation and other damage accompanies that as well.

The cost and time to modify a stock rod for ARP bolts does not warrant this change for them, if there is concern, go with a new forged rod?

The no. 1 & 2 concern in a stock 109 build is the cast crank and the block itself.

Why spend $200 updating a set of rods when you can buy new for not much more? I've never seen a stock rod bolt fail either

Len Freeman broke a stock rod in his car years ago. Keep in mind he was way over the edge with that combo and running high 9's at the time it broke. I agree with what was stated, why recondition a set of stock rods with ARP bolts when you can buy a nice set of forged rods for not much more $$.
