Howdy,

I'm going to be running a pair of Ford T3's, which are internally identical to the stock GN turbos (.60/.63), on my 4.1. My question is how much booste can you make reliably on the stock GN turbo? Will it make 25 psi without baddly overspeeding? Remember I will have 3 cylinders (2.1L) pushing each turbo, the turbos came off of 2.3L I4's. Since this is a Buick I'd rather not go over the Ford board just to find out how much I can run.

The stock turbos seem to be done at about 23 to 24PSI MAX.
You will not see anything go up other than AIT and knock retard after that.

I will be running Razor's PAC and twin intercoolers so I'm trying to cut as much heat out of the intake charge as possible. I'm also pocket porting and gasket matching the heads and intake as well as trying to design the most efficient headers and downpipe I can. I am running external turbonetiques deltagates Mk II's and adjustable boost controller. If I do get the stock wastegates on the turbos I'm thinking of putting them on a soleniod so if the low oil pressure or low fuel pressure sensors kick in it opens the internal bypass to help spool the turbos down faster. The Ford turbo's are also both oil and water cooled vs the Buick oil only. Any other issues with running 25 psi?

This may be a dumb ? but... If you have 2 would they be spinning slower to achieve the same amount of boost as one turbo? With 2 you have double the volume of air feeding the motor so they should be able to make 25# and not "over-spin"?
Just my redneck school of thought. Lot of stang guys use 2 on 5.0's w/great success.
 
i used to run 22-23 psi max on the stocker...tried 25 psi one time and redlined the knock meter...last time i ever tried that! this was on 110 race fuel btw...stocker is DONE at 23 psi
