i do have some shisty monte SS guy that lives behind me im thinking he took it and will sell it.
it was gone through last summer and had a bunch of parts replaced and only had about 1000 miles on it maybe. im a college kid and was selling it so i can buy a roller to replace my rusted out GN shell

There's your answer. It's not likely there's transmission theives prowling the neighborhood. Go take it back.

i would leave a note on his door stating..."i know you took my transmission, please put it back,i too have done many things wrong, maybe you thought it was a junk spare one,but it was not and i need it badly,so please just leave it where you found it asap,if you did not steal it,please agree to take a poligragh as my uncle does that for a living,if you want the test please contact me by this weekend..thanks.."...............dont leave your name and if he is dumb and shows up to take the test,he is busted ,or he may just leave it  ...if he didnt take it,he wont know who it was from or what the heck they are talking about......just keep a eye on him and see how he acts when he sees you...i would guess he will act differently if he took it...or you can steal something of his and then leave a note saying "put the tranny back and i will return your first item"...good luck

Did you get it back or make any progress?

Damn Monte owners...

I would think thats way too obvious for him to take it seeing that he lives right behind you and owns a car with the same tranny, but who knows. Perhaps he knows a buddy that needs one or something. I'd definately poke around their yard and ask nicely, in case it wasn't him.
