What can be done to a non BRF tranny to make it stronger? Does anybody sell the valve body similar or identical to ours? What other things should be done to strenthen them. I have completed the performance enhancements from the B&M shift kit. Is there anything else?

Bruce? Anyone? Bueller?

If you cannot locate a BRF VB and desire the proper shift points, an alternative is a TCI 382200 valve body.

It is essentially a recalibrated, non-BRF VB. We do this by selecting an appropriate core and exchanging the following components with new ones that we make:
  • Lo/Detent valve and sleeve
  • 1-2 Throttle Valve, sleeve & spring
  • 2-3 Throttle Valve, sleeve & spring
We also remove the MTV upshift valve spring as BRF units did not come equipped with them. What you wind up with is a valve body that works well with a BRF governor, providing the correct shift points for a TR.

See Bruce's post above concerning the strengthening part as it's applicable to any 200-4R.
