Strong fuel smell in vac lines

I have a very strong fuel vapor smell in my vac lines, EGR, Wastegate, etc.
When I pull off the vac lines on these I can smell the fuel very strong, is this normal?

I think this is normal. I have noticed it on my car.

When you shut the engine off, the lines that are under vacuum will eventually suck air in. For some, the only way to do this is back through the carb's passages.

Thanks Rich, I was alittle worried. I know it should have some smell, but it was pretty strong.
