I converted the car to 134 back in 2000. It is blowing warm but the compressor is still cycling though quite frequently. I am sure o-rings need replaced and maybe schrader valves.

Anyone have a link or anything to a how-to to the whole system most efficiently before I start searching my head off? In the end I will take it in for the recharge; I don't have that equipment.

I also heard I can replace the expansion valve with a Ford one that lets the system perform better?

Hoses Maybe leaking as Well. I know nos4gn will have them soon.s might want to wait and the do the orings. Etcc

That's a good point. I just replaced all the cooling system hoses. When hoses are 26 years old, they are just waiting to pop at the worst moment possible. I guess that goes for a/c too.

There is no expansion valve. The metering device is an orifice tube.

John, I just did a repair for the hose leak problem. I used a sniffer, and found the hoses seeping at the crimps, and on the outside of the bends. I removed them, cut the crimp collars off, got new hoses, re-installed to get clocking correct, then had them crimped.
The orifice tube may have crud in it. Cheap to replace.

I would pull a vacum on it, I would expect you could use smoke or the like to find your leaks. A bunch easier to find problems when you are in a controlled environment without the motor running.
I converted to R134. I still have stock hoses and surprised that I've still got cold air coming out.
