Anyone else waiting for one of these. My car has been down for over a month because of a back order on this part. Anyone else have one on order and still waiting? Summers are short up here in Canada.

I called in February for one and was told they were on backorder. I settled for a set of Jethot stockers I found on eBay for cheap. The only thing they had was the crossover pipe which I bought.

hello; I had to wait months for a set of headers from TA. They are not installed yet but I think they might be made overseas and that could be the problem.
Are they made overseas?

Two points of interest.....headers are NOT I REPEAT not made overseas the ones we carry by TA Performance.

Call my office we are ordering them Monday as I am told they have some for us on hand.....

if your order is with our company you will be getting it now shortly...the drivers side only.

I saw Mike personally last week at Ohio event so reason I know they are available now.

hello; Now I really don't get it. Parts are not made overseas, there seems to be alot that want the product. Unless they can't get the tubing that's about the only hold up.(I guess) I did get mine but the wait was way too long. Then I got them coated that took another couple of weeks. Like I said there still not on but will be soon.

GN1 headers in the KB style are made overseas but they are not junk. Been running them on my GN for years without any issues. The SE style headers by GN1 ARE made in the US.

this is a pretty small market- a "high demand" on a part like this might be, what, a couple of dozen a year? unless they are made in house, the shops that they get contracted out to be made probably work them in between bigger customers...

Just put SE's on Mr Ellis's motor. They are well made but there were a couple issues. The worst being that the flange holes were off. Would not bolt up to the motor. Both sides had to be drilled. Not an easy task to drill 1/2 stainless steel.

The other issue was the crossover leaked on the slip joint. The band clamp does not do the job. Ended up welding the joint.

Over all I give the SE header a 8.5 out of 10. If not for the holes being off and the slip joint leaking they would be a 10.

Thank you for the update Mr. Kirban. Yes one of those driver's side headers is destined to end up on my car. This is great news!!!

Some of you guys have no clue what a Buick vendor or a supplier has to deal with for cars that were produced for 2 years , 25 years ago with a total production of ~50,000 vehicles, not millions like Mustangs or Camaros?

Yes, the TA headers are made in small lots of about 300 at a time. So if you figure the average cost of $650 each multiplied by 200 units, you can see this is a large investment for a small family-owned business, and this is only one product line?

Since they are made in the USA, the manufacturer is also a small business, not controlled or subsided by the government, they do not have workers waiting around until an order arrives, so it takes a month or more to fill an order.

Then you have off-shore knock-off's copies of your product, not very good parts, but selling at 1/3 the price. Oh, they do NOT have to factor in the $$$$ of dollars spent for development and testing of the product, nor do they ever receive feedback for product improvement.

So maybe instead of bitching and complaining, a little appreciation and respect could be shown for a quality product and the company behind them.

Agree with Nick!

For the record I wasn't complaining, but wondering how many others might be waiting for these parts. I have come to expect delays when getting items for this car. In the past I have owned two Mercury Marauders, a couple of 5.0's (Fox platform) and an SVO Mustang, all of which have been easier to get parts for. I support the vendors here when ever I can. All of the items listed in my mods and then some came from vendors on this site.

I know I was told when I called TA performance for a whole set of stock headers that they were made in batches and they had to wait until there Entire order was complete to get them in. So all of the other cars that they make headers for had to be done as well. I could not wait so had to look elsewhere. Im glad they had their crossover pipe in stock cause I could not find an aftermarket one piece that fit right. That two piece was such a great fit have them on both cars.

I have a set of real T/A headers on my limited. They fit perfect with no mods, and they don't leak. IMO, they're the best you can buy. I understand your car is down, but couldn't you make do with a set of welded up stockers while you're waiting?

Amen to That !!
