I've located a T-type center cap and hopefully it will be here next week. Then I can sit down and get to work on this part. I'm hoping I can start producing parts in 2-4 weeks. I'm looking into the logo in the mean time. I really want these parts to be plug and play.

Good luck Ray.. and get to work! :) :) :)

Just an update: I got the plug in today ( the original center cap) and started checking it out. I hope to have this figured out and have a sample part in a few weeks or less.

sounds good when can we expect to see some pictures of these? Also what kinda inlays? Ones that look stock or like the inlays that buickgn.com has?

Just need to tweak the molds a little and I can start a run on caps. I'm not sure ATm when that will take place. It's my goal to start no later than Monday if everything goes well. As for the inlays, I can't speak for BW about the inlays. It's my guess that they will be as close to original as can be made. But don't qoute me on it.

WHat's the word on the new caps? I just put new tires on my T and discovered that the centers had been glued in!

I was thinking about the GNX ones that Kirban has (4 for $30- no emblems) but wanted t see what you guys have come up with and the pricing...

Sorry about the delay...

My car didn't come with stock wheels. Since I had to tweak the molds, I needed a wheel to double check specs. So Brian is shipping me a wheel to help out. We should be good to go once I get a wheel and double check everything.

Thanks
Ray

Ray I think you should have it today. I would rather take an extra week then push something out that isn't better then original.

Hey thanks Brian and I completely agree. This set back has giving us time to play around with pigmenting (coloring) the ressin. So far it's more like a dark grey

left is the reproduction part and the right is an OEM part.

WOW! that looks great. Hell, I'll even take them in that Dark grey color.

Is there some new innovation on the clamping/installation method so that we don't have to worry about breaking plastic clips?

Thanks:biggrin:

ATM, I'm working on how well the part fits the wheel.

What about a metal retainer inside the caps like the factory GTA caps have that help secure the cap to the wheel and don't break? I suppose that would be another fabricator to work on that part? It looks great though. Good work guys!

improving GM original

The plastic being used is more flexable then factory so the tits do not break off.The center cap is also being widened ever so slightly to make a nice tight fit.No more tape!
