Am I correct in thinking that sliding the t.v. cable further into the bracket will produce softer shifts at lower rpms? When I say into the bracket I mean pushing in the d-shaped tab and pushing the cable towards the firewall. Mine is pushed so far in that no notches are showing. It is pushed as far toward the firewall as possible. This was done by the tranny builder. I have a good 1st to 2nd shift but the 2nd to 3rd only occurs when you rev past 4,000 rpms and let off the gas. The 3rd to O/D works fine, just like the 1-2. I have pulled the cable out 4 or 5 notches but have not driven the car since. I did this because the tranny will not hold any kind of power and I figured pulling the cable out some would firm up the shifts and allow the tranny to build more pressure therefore provide more holding power to the clutches. I thought pulling it out, towards the front of the car, produced firmer shifts at higher rpms? Is this right?
