I tthought they were expensive too till i realized how much other aluminum and or iron race blocks cost compare to the lsx block or the mopar 500 cid megablock etc etc etc $3000 isnt that bad when you consider the power that can be made...

I thought they were closer to 4g's.

Really?? We have a mid 9 sec iron headed 109 car down here that has run 40lbs of boost with the K1 rods and so far no carnage.

What I was getting at was, 40 psi at 5,000 rpm is a tremendous amount of cylinder pressure. If this really occurred, the fuel most likely detonated and took a liking to the rods. Lesson is, it's OK to run 40 psi, but try not to do it at peak torque.

I should clarify. It's OK to run 40 psi if you carefully plan for it.
