This is just a fyi or beware.
The housings are 35 years old for the most part. They are suspect to UV rays in an odd place i found.
This is the plastic under the back up lens which is clear. The plastic under the red lens does not appear to deteriorate like the back up lens area.
What this means is if your car has spent its 35 years outside your taillights will have this problem.
If removing the assembly be extremely careful as the two studs that are under the back up lamp are possible cracked or desentagrated. The plastic seems to turn to dust and reattaching doesn't appear possible.
In the attached pics you can see the silver reflective paint is all but "burnt" off on the back up lamp area .
