The Supra pump was evidently too much for the wiring @ the hanger. I recently read a post/thread about a fix being sold for this problem. Several searches came up MT.. NE1 recall where to find it??
[Didn't see it on the Casper nor the Racetronix site.]

Chuck, we developed our own fix as we have been plagued with the crappy wiring in the fuel GN sender for years? :(

Our solution is to remove it all, including the worthless pin connector at the top, and use a heavier gage wires from the pump to the connector at the hot wire relay, and a new 10 ga. ground wire to the battery or engine.

This is also a good time to fix the small return line issue at the sender.

Just be sure to use an epoxy that is impervious to gasoline to seal the hole for the wires going through the top of the sender.

Nick, I'm assuming you run the wires directly thru the hanger, then epoxy them in place. Y/N???

Got what I think will work....
I had some grommets that I bought from AAW, when I got the harness for the 55. One fits a 1/2" hole, has "funnel shaped" ends on both sides, fits a #14 wire VERY tightly...
I am going to try it, using a dab of super glue under the flange. [On the outside of the hanger.]

I also modified the ground connector. I tigged a SS 10-32 screw to the under side of the hanger. This will eliminate the spade connector at both ends of the grnd. [Already a 10-32 on the top side.]

Time will tell!:D

We offer this which is the best solution:

that connector is nice and i have one. however it still uses those small pins. how much does that effect things iyop vs having a nice 10 gauge wire straight to the pump?
Our new senders have a revised version which doubles up on the terminals to handle 28 amps. This is more than enough for ANY in-tank pump. Best part is that this new connector is vapor-proof. This system will not allow fuel to be wicked-up and allowed to exit the tank as vapor. If you have a Denso pump you may want to consider our new sender with non-tapered lines.
