What the hell is going on, this board used to be stand up, now its full of scumbags, thievs and liars. There is the few that are great on here. There used to be no place for any of this stuff. It seems more and more has leaked into this board. The feedback forum is full of complaints. People talking down to others. I dont know if anyone else notices. I think its pathetic, TB.com lost its integrity.

I don't think that TB.COM has lost any of it's integrity, in fact I think that TB.COM will never lose it's integrity. Problem peeps will naturally grow in proportion to the qunatity of members. With hard times coming on as they are and the economy weakening, crime, especially crimes against the person & any crimes involving money are going to increase. More people are out of work, more people are going out of work, costs are going up. Unfortunately, look at it this way, there are people out there that were honest last year because they were working to feed their families, that may not be quite as honest today if they are not working. The fact that people are allowed to post problems freely shows tha this forum is progressively minded and are doing their share to resolve issues. IMHO.

Have you been to the "other" site lately?

I have only been on here a yr. but so far everyone I have dealt with has been
stand up people. But it is an open forum and you will always get some b.s.
and INTERNET warriors and those that are holier than thou.
Alot of guys thats been here a while know all the stories (or where the bodies are buried) and us new guys don't and most don't want to know.
Or do we feel obligated to choose sides with whom ever.
Gary, the fact that people are willing to discuss their problems on this forum
says a lot about the TB community. And except for personnal agendas there
seems to by more plus's than minus's in the feedback forum. Yet as a business owner I can tell you 95% of the time you have a good sale or
transaction you never hear anything, but one bad one and you will hear about it forever.

Thanks for the perspective Gary!

Thanks, I appreciate that. :D

Well put Gary!! We pretty much see eye to eye on this. Problems on the board? sure, some. But look at the tremendous membership growth!!! There's bound to be a few bad apples (and there are some).

Like was stated elsewhere in this thread, anybody that wants to see just how bad total "free wheeling" can get only need go the the other board where anything and everything is tolerated without question.

I never really been to the other site. i have browsed there a few times but i thought thats where all the outcasts went? I just feel its different from when i signed up here in 2002, i switch my name in 2003 to a different name because i lost my account.

The board has changed hands perhaps more than once since that time.

As well as the cars getting older, and vendors going in and out of business as well within the community, ie. things change.

Rules have changed a bit as well... :p

Then again a lot has changed in America over the last 6 years too.

Just some observations. :)

I think the 50's and 60's were great times, but I can't go back, I know. :D

Eddie Money reference intended. ;)

We do our best to provide you the best board possible for this community. It is unfortunate that there are some shady folks out there. Before buying something I would check out the person's post and how they have been a member. A person's word doesn't mean much to most people any longer...

The world has changed....

For those of us that are old enough to actually remember growing up in the 50's and 60's, the country and our society will NEVER be the same.
I really truly feel sorry for young people having to grow up in modern times (90's and onward).

Have you been to the "other" site lately?

Exactly !...If you find that there are too many shady individuals here...check out the "other" Buick board! ...It won't take long for you to realize that even though this site isn't perfect, it is far more serious and most guys here generaly behave themselves, are respectful and polite with each other as compared with the "other" site where name calling and insults have become an almost normal, "everyday" way of talking... ...I know 'cause I do post there on some rare occasions...

Claude

This site is my home away from home. I have been in touch and learned from people who I otherwise never would have met and become friends with. It is by far the best site on the internet IMHO.:)

On the whole people are generally good. The TR community especially. Although as stated before you have bad apples in any group, society, club, work, school, etc...

This board is just fine and TBS.COM is just fine also. I get a kick out of the guys that hate that board but still go there and read.

The fellows that frequent that board are good people and yes there is a little horseplay that goes on, but I guess it just insults people to read it. Take a look over at Yellowbullet.com in the kill or be killed section and that will let you know just how conservative our boards really are.

You are right about the bullet and some boards Ted. I would hate to be in the cross hairs over there at YB... Some other boards though are moderated a whole lot tighter than here...

It is the users choice to go where they want. Just follow the rules at each site and you are good to go.

This site strives to represent the best of the TR community. I will admit we are not perfect. I would let my kids look at this site though....

You're right about YB but the community there is so large that it doesn't matter. Or is there a community there?

Alot of the racers on YB were at Cecil for some T&T prior to the Showdown.

There are a select few on the other board that corrupt the good guys and bring them down with 'em.:frown: :frown: :frown:
