I am having the same problem, ( converter not locking up). I have done voltage tests with the car on stands and everything checks out right. Even put a new TCC switch in the transmission. Is it possible the converter is bad? I have been told that if you keep your foot on the gas going about 60 miles an hour, and tap the brake with your other foot you should feel the lock up disengage. Any help will be appreciated.

Did you check the fuse I mentioned on the other thread? That's all that was wrong with mine.

By your left foot. Top left hand corner should be a fuse labeled "ECM/Solenoid"

Does it lock if you connect "A" to "F" on your ALDL connector? Do you have 12v on pin "F" when you turn your key on?

Yes, The fuse is ok. When you say hook a jumper wire from term F of ALDL to term A, do you mean term A of connector on tranny? I hooked a test light from ALDL terminal to ground and drove car up to 65mph. Light on with key on and up to 50mph, then light off. Light off with touch of brake. I also back probed ECM, C7 and C8 terminal according to buick manual with car on blocks and checks out, 12v when car shifts into 3rd and 4th. I have replaced the TC solenoid with a new GM part. Should I think the 2 pressure switches are ok by checking C7 and C8 terminals at ECM?
