Is there anyone out there running a te-63 turbo with 50 lb. injectors? I am currently running a pt-51 and a 3200-3400 10" non-lock converter. Are 50's enough for the 63 to play around on the street?A friend of mine has one I can try but also I've been leary of trying it because it's killed a tranny or two, awesome turbo though.

T63E here with 50's went 11.49 on a single pump just got an ATR DP for insurance but the ME helps out a ton I think. Depends on how fast you want to go. 11.4 maybe quicker is good for me until I get some heads and they will do the job.

TA-63 and MSD50's here. 11.12@123. TOO LEAN FOR ME! Going to 72's before the next pass. Mid 11's your good, any faster, you need more fuel to be SAFE.

I have a T63E and 50s and have gone 11.24 @ 121+.

If you don't have heads the 50s should be OK. Heads - well I'd go bigger - I have an ME and I'd just go with whatever Steve's happy with...

As long as you keep the boost down to a level that you don't go lean, it should be fine...as Strike, and others, said, be careful. Better heads, high boost, weak pump, etc. can get you into trouble.

I run a TA66 with MSD 50's. I've run 10.63@127+. Boost around 26lbs. Fuel static around 51lbs. That is with 118 Sunoco. You can run into the 10's with 50's as long as you have good fuel.

Good Luck

I run a TA62 and 50 lb Inj, but I only have a hot wired 307 Walbro and I have gone 124 mph. What fuel pump or pumps are you using. How much timing did you use with that big turbo?

The only issue is,
Can you get ahold of a decent chip.
Then it's just a matter of how large you want to run.

There are a few guys running 72s on the street quite easily. I have 55s and 7th 36 (full time), with a cal'c 61 injector constant, idles BETTER then a stocker, in gear at 700 RPM.

IMO, if you keep the boost down to a reasonable level (18-20#) you should be fine. I'm running a 45A (same as 63) and it was great using the MSD 50s as long as I kept it below 21#...any more than that and my EGT would climb over 1600 and DS would show inj duty cycle of 96% or higher. Even at 19# I was seeing inj d/c of 92%, so I was at the limit, even with the ATR staged pumps. Now if I could get the car dialed in with the 72's I would be :D :D . Of course, having a cracked ds header doesn't help either....didn't think you could crack an ATR s/s replacement header this easily...LOL.

Buy extra head gaskets if you want to run more than 21 # on alky.As for race gas,I never used it before.I'm thinking of just using 100 all the time on the street and 116 on the track. It will beat feet around 17# on 93,but watch the timing.Spool is great too.

The 45A is not the same as the 63. The 45A has a 66mm compressor wheel, the 63 has a 63mm wheel. The old 45 (not 45A) had the same wheel as the 63. ;)

I run a te-63 with 50# injectors. As you can see in my post, I have run 118 mph at 21# of boost thru the traps. I don't think I will push anymore boost than that until I get some 72#ers.

turbos and inj

I run the te45 or 66 wheel Ive got the 009 or 42lb inj with a big 7th inj its working for me two ext pumps thru the stock fuel lines lowest budget possible. peace Bret Rudbeck

BUICKTR,
I run two bosch external fuel pumps. My timing is set a 26 in race mode. EGT is around 1550-1600.

50's

Just be careful about cranking the FP too high. 50's have a reputation of locking up w/high FP. Seimens 55's can potentially be pushed harder without exibiting that problem.

50's will take you very far. Find out what your car will handle. I ran my sig times on 50's and a 63/45 type turbo. 26 psi.
