Can anyone describe the differences between these three turbos? Which one would spool the quickest with a stock D5 converter?? Any other turbo out there thats comparable to these listed in terms of QUICK spoolup with the d5??? My goal is to run mid 11's..I got MSD 50's and a THDP.....

I've heard or stock turbos runing into the 11's

Anyhow, here is a link that may help you out.... Turbocharger

There is info on a ton of different turbos as well as peoples personal set ups. As for me, I run a TE44 but it hasn't been on the track. The car has ran very low 12's on the stock turbo set at 18psi.

Best of luck with you goal.

With any of those turbos, you are going to need 25+lbs to get mid 11s out of them. Unless you race in a low elevation area. My TTA went 11.83 with 24lbs. Air fuel was 10:1 and the air was equivalent to 1600'. So it has a few tenths left in it I think. That was with a GT3255E. I think you will find the 44/49/32 pretty close to each other. I wold say you can't go wring with any of those.

Just make sure you fuel system can handle it and you got a good chip/tune.

Yeah, fuel is fine, I got MSD50's and a hotwired walbro...I am really looking into the dual BB TE44 turbo that PTE has..Would I be able to hit mid to high 11's on a stock unopened motor on pump gas (no alchy), stock d5, and a dutt neck stock ic with that turbo??

Yes. figure 22lbs+ to crack into the 11s with a good 60' But that turbo will get you into the 11s no problem.

You might be able to squeak out a high 11 on 100 octane with around 20 to 21 lbs of boost but any faster will require 24+ psi & good gas. A good 60' time will go a long way towards reaching your goals.

Not on pump gas with no Alky. It's my belief you need something like 100+ octane or an Alky kit to reach your goal. The most you probaly can run without either one of those is around 15psi on pump gas. Now I've heard the RJ power plate will sometimes allow people to run a few pounds more of boost on pump fuel. The plate is around 30-50 bux but not sure how hard it is to install.

I don't think it is reasonable to be shooting for mid 11's on "Pump Gas" without the help of alcohol injection in the configuration you listed. Having said that, with alcohol you should be able to hit mid 11's without too much effort. Make sure your tune is good and search other members (and their times) who are using the same combo. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. Take care.

The OE turbo with a finely tuned motor will get you into the 11's with a real good 60' time...seen it done numerous times. My buddies Fast Eddie Brewer and Bryan Wanner have both run some serious numbers with OE turbos; BW did it recently. I think Ed ran 116mph and BW around 115...both deep into the 11's. The TE44 has always been a great tried and true turbo that will easily run you into the 11's with the correct complimentary parts...THDP, injectors, alky etc. I personally ran 120 mph with an OE turbo on my TTA. If I were you I would try that that GT turbo...seems to make a ton of midrange power and will run you into the 120's with the proper tune and the best part is the OE converter seems to work just fine.

Any of the above mentioned turbo's including the stocker are capable of 11's but NONE of the turbo's will get you there at 93 octane limited boost levels.

My second pass ever with the car I went an 11.59 at 119 24lbs 27 deg. on the stock d5 stock original trans and stock suspension with one air bag 110 race gas and a gt32. I haven't tried any other turbo except the stock one.
Good luck,
Scott

I think I'm off with my thinking here...BW seems to think I had the TE44 on the car with stock injectors when I ran 120.

With the combo you listed on a good tune you might be able to run mid to high 12's with a TE-44 and straight 93 and thats pushing it no way you would run 11 anything with your combo and straight 93, lets be realistic guys.
