I hope we're not stomping on this thread. Gr82baGN should be paying attention because we are still talking about the 45a and what it takes to make a combo work. :D :D :D :D

No you’re not stomping. As long as I'm learning I'm happy. I decided that for what I want to do it will be the TE45. I just wish the bank account was a bit more accommodating at this point of my combo (increase stall and go with the TE45A) but I can't complain I had a lot of work done the last two years and with each mod the car has just simply gotten better and better. I'm hooked. The car runs like a beast. I just got done trying out my new xmas gift, an electronic exhaust cut out from Mark at Turbo Regal Custom (wonder how my wife knew) and man is it a blast. I figure it's one less thing I have to do when I get to the track. Gentlemen thank you for all your input, it really is appreciated. Know I gotta go and read up on lower control arms, I figure if I'm gonna generate more power I might as well get it to the ground with min hop. You will be seeing me on other threads I'm not the shy type and you folks sound like you know what your doing. Again thanks.:D

The down side to the 63 mm wheel is it is very violent when it spools up. The 66 tames it down. My turbo was a TE-63 large housing 3 bolt. I could not stage the car on the foot brake and control boost at the line at all. As soon as the boost gage started to move it would go to 25. Nothing in between. John Craig put the 66 wheel in it and now it is cotrollable. That is the reason the 45A was the big wheel. If your goig to try to run on street tires you don't want a turbo that hits that hard. Call John and talk to him before you make this decission. Hope this helps

Steve: I will give John a call before commiting. Will Nittos DOT drags help that situation at all? Thats all I use after the winter.

I don't know about the nittos. I can break loose 10 x 28 hoosier quicktime pros in 2nd with boost turned down to 15 on the street. I've never had nittos or drag radials.

I thought the reason tyhe 45a was even invented was because of parts price and or avalibility.

Sounds to me like it might be a 1000 bucks well spent. My designated driver just showed up and it's time to head towards the family festivities. I just finished my 4th shot of Pinch and I feel no pain. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year, be safe and thanks for all the help. :D :D :D

I would be willing to sell my Lt-45a if somebody is looking for one.
I sounds like I might have to go biggier:D
