I have a TE-44 Turbo but was considering going up 1 more size to the TE-60Turbo.I always planned on getting a 3200 stall converter from Precision.I know the TE-60 is a great street Turbo.I have heard that the TE-60 gives about 20-30 more power at the high end.Can anyone compare these 2 Turbo's or are they very similar:confused: I have a modified 12 inch D5 stall converter.

I have heard that the 6152 is not as snappy as the Te-44 Turbo's.I worry about the Lag issues.I like a ery responsive street Turbo as that is where 100% of the time I will be driving my car.

I have a 6152 with a stock d5 and it spools pretty good.I do have a 3200 to install but I put the turbo on first before I put my new tranny and converter in and I dont have any complaint with d5 and I just took off a ta49 which was a good match for the d5.

I was thinking about going with a Vigilante 3200 or 3400 9.5 single disc L/U converter if I go with the 6152 Turbo.I have the stock Cam but I have CNC ported race Heads and matching Intake.I wonder if the 6152 will spool as fast as the TE-44 with my modified 12inch 3000 converter. It seems like the 6152 is the rage in street/strip Turbo's for the Turbo Buick's.I had an old 60-1 many years ago and that thing really sucked on the street.Lag was terrible with that Turbo.

I have had both turbos. I just moved from a 44 to a 6152. I matched mine with a 3200 ptc, and I just pulled it today to have it tightened back to 2800. This turbo doesn't need that much converter. It spools very nicely and I did try it with the stock D5. It was liveable, but not what I was looking for. Now it spools instantly, but too loose at the track. I think the 2800 will be perfect.

I was a little confused by your post. You pulled your 3200 converter with the 6152 Turbo??? You put back the 2800 stall converter in?? It seems like most guys like a 3200 to 3400 stall converter with that Turbo.Maybe Im misunderstanding your post.

3k will work with the 6152 but 3200 will make it even a better ride. If you want it to spool like stock or close to it i would go 9.5 3200 all day

Some guys are teeling me to keep my Te-44 and just get the PTE .63 housing.I don't believe that the 6152 spools the same way a Te-44 does.Don't know enough about the 6152 but I want a great street Turbo. Not worried about racing it.As long as its real fast on the street thats all that matters.

The te60 is a great turbo that will make a lot of power. I have a 60 with a garrett .63 housing and a vigilante 9.5 3200 l/u converter. The car spools quickly and makes over 500whp.

Yeah I have heard that the Te-60 is a great Turbo that pulls harder on the top end.I don't know if the 6152 is as good on the street as a Te-60.Im wondering though if I bought a Te-60 would I notice a difference with 18lbs of boost:confused:

At 18 lbs, I doubt it. You dont really benefit from the 44 to 60 until the mid 20lb area. They would be really close to the same at 18, my .02

I went from a 49 to the 60. At the same boost level the difference was very noticable. I am running 23psi though. The 44 and 60 are very close. They will both put in you the 10 second range with the right combo. When I made the switch from 49 to 60, all else being the same it was a 55rwhp gain. I would not hesitate to use the te60 on another car. If you really want to wake up the car, get a set of ported heads and matching intake. The car will come alive big time.

Mid 20's, yes theres a difference, 18, not enough to notice. In his sig it says he already has CNC ported heads
If your going to get a bigger turbo, I'd say go a few steps bigger so you have room to grow. That way your not looking for your next turbo next summer. You can always turn the boost down if its too much for you. You will notice a difference at 18 lbs with a 6776

Agreed get the 6776 and run lower boost for now if you have to. I am going to this turbo soon.

Agreed X2, I just put mine on too. Looking forward to trying it out soon. Have to install the new convertor and Alky kit I just bought too
BTW, in your sig your looking at nitrous. Youd be better off with the Alky kit. my.02

I don't like big Turbo's for Street Terror car.The smaller Turbo's are simply more fun with better throttle response.

I would think the 6776bb with a .63 exhaust with your 3200 stall would spool as quick as a 44 with a 2800 stall. Plus you would be pushing alot more air at the same boost level.
