Hey Guys,
I am having a Te62 rebuilt and selling my 49 soon. What do you think I can get with the supporting mods I have in my sig??? I am only going to go 22-23 lbs max. I was up to 27-28 with the 49 and I wasnt a real fan of the boost that high. I drive this alot in the summer and on cool nights, it would hit 30 sometimes.

Thanks

It should work just fine at 24/25 psi. on pump and alky. with your converter. :)

380 - 440 RWHP depending upon timing etc.

11.8 at 114 mph. :)

I thought you were building a stroker?

Can PTE make it a billet 62/62 for you? That's gonna kill both the 49 and old 62.

I've got a te62 with only a valve spring change in the engine. Most of the rest is similar to you...pte stretch, stock heads, 3200 vigilante, vince trannie, smc alky kit, 60 lb inj...I haven't been to the track much, and it shows. Still trying to learn how to tune as well. No track time to speak of last summer, fall before turned an 11.64 @ 117.5. Sucks compared to these guys that get that with a 49, but that's where I'm at. Next time out should be at 42 in the spring with the track rental that was rained out this fall. Hope to meet you there!

Best time for my TE-62 is 11.480@116mph. Best 60' on a 255/50/16 MT DR was a 1.58 on that pass. Full weight street car, 3700+ pounds. 115,000 original miles at the time.

Mods are stock motor (as far as I know), double roller chain; and Comp 980 springs.

Dutt neck stock IC, 32-3400 ProTorque, 3" THDP out the Hooker pipes... Basic stuff really. Oh and Julio's amazing single noozle alcohol kit.

Hope this helps.

hey that exact turbo has already gone down the track at 11.4....and I should know

Yeah, but I dont have your supporting mods. You got DLS heads and a bigger cam. I thought you went 11.2 with this turbo???

Hey Ryan,
I think I bought a Powermaster from you years back. I will meet you at the track rental this spring. My car is at Janis's shop as we speak getting tranny work finished. Im hoping to get in the 11.7 range with a mild tune. I dont want to push a 22k mile engine to hard. I am building another motor, but sending my daughter to college and building a complete new Max Wedge for my 64 took all my funds... For now anyway.

Nope, wasn't me. His shop is about 15-20 minutes from my house. I think I was pushing 25-26 psi on an engine with ~ 50k on it. I would definitely think that 11.7 would be doable. You have some nice toys!

Wrong Ryan then. I am going to a Powerlogger and bigger inj also. I am buying parts to run now that I can put on my new engine later, although I will be running a Te45a on my new engine. Thanks for the reply.

YEP, I am. Its not going on that engine.

If you are close to building the motor, just save your money and sell the TE62 and put it towards the motor. Unless you are years away from building the stroker...

Its not a matter of "when I can" its more of "when I want". I have new aluminum heads and a new roller cam for my 409 being done now. I just spent close to 8k on rebuilding my Max Wedge engine. When I really want it...I will have it. I really want to stick it in a different car, thats whats really keeping me from finishing it. I want a white T-type to mod with a cage and custom interior.I have looked at a few, but dont have room for another car right now. I have a 57,000 mile 65 Plymouth Super Stocker to sell off. I also have a 50,000 mile 73 Charger SE 400 big block I need to decide what to do with. I would like to put my GN back to factory since its a low mile car. Besides, DLS is 6 months to a year out on builds.

$100 says DLS racing and development will never build the stroker that you want.

The te62 been 10's on stock long blocks. If you are running c16 you can just wire the wastegate closed and be sure to lock the converter in 3rd. It should run the number if you can get enough fuel in it.

Thanks Brian. My motor is stock except new springs. I run an external 38mm gate and ALKY. Im trying to get the loose ends tied up so I can call you and we can finish my combo for the new engine. Thanks so much for the time you have given to the project already.

P.S. I training for another Bodybuilding show as we speak...gotta head to the gym now.
